I wrote in a post last year about numerous properties being for sale along Union Avenue, and one of those was 203 Union, better known as the Saratoga Sleigh Bed and Breakfast.
I seem to recall that the property at one time had a professional Realtor's sign out front, and also had a For Sale By Owner sign for much of the year. I just noticed yesterday that the place now has a Coldwell Banker sign out front with a phone number (456-HOME) that supposedly you can call to get recorded information on the place. When I punched in the code 03821 I got a short recording telling me to call the agent - I don't know if that's a technological snafu or whether the agent put the sign up before he got around to recording the message. Anyway, you can view the listing here as well as take the virtual tour, complete with bed and breakfasty music, here. I want the copywrite on the term "Bed and Breakfasty music" in case it takes off. Yes, I know but...
Speaking of Union Avenue properties that were once for sale by owner but are now listed with a professional agent, a condo inside the stately 48 Union building (pictured below) is listed for sale for $309,000. 48 Union is not just a beautiful building, but it's also ideally located between the track and downtown and is just steps from Congress Park. There is also an office condo for sale in that building, presently listed for $775,000. Last week I also wrote about some other east side Saratoga Springs real estate issues, most notably 73 Union being back on the market, here.
Finally, going back to Beds and Breakfasts for sale, I wrote two postings last year about both the Westchester House B & B being for sale (below left), across from Five Points Grocery, as well as The Chestnut Tree Inn (below right), on Whitney Place near Lincoln Avenue, being listed. As far as I can tell, both places are off the market now, but I don't know if that's because they sold or because the owners chose not to renew the listings. If anybody has any information on any of those places I would be interested to know. Click here for my post from last week with other East Side Real Estate news.
