I was on Henry Street recently and met Jerry Porreca, owner of Smokey Joe's BBQ Express, which will open tomorrow at the location which formerly was Liberty Bell Cheesesteaks. Porreca was kind enough to let me snap a few photos of the interior, which he was doing final touches on. The menu will be similar but not exactly the same as the menu at their Smokey Joe's Saloon and Grill in Lake George. The place inside 88 Henry Street was bigger than I remember Liberty Bell Cheesesteaks, mostly because the counter from Liberty Bell was removed, making way for more dining space. Well it's good to know that if Liberty Bell is gone that a restaurant with equal portions of cholesterol is taking its place!

It might be good, but if there's no smoke, there's no barbecue. Just baked ribs.
