OK, this is pretty damn cool, but I can't even take credit for most of it. A few days back, I posted an entry on the movie "A Slight Case of Murder". I really appreciate Spirit of Life's comments, especially the second comment, where s/he and a group of friends listed for all of us a very comprehensive list of movies with Saratoga connections. Thanks folks - that is great! I will post the original entry here as well as the comments that were made by me and Spirit of Life.
A slight case of Murder
One of these days, after I clean my den, my car, my storeroom, organize everything else, and do the 3,000 other tasks I have been putting off, I'm going to read as much as I can about Saratoga. I'm also going to watch the movies that have Saratoga connections (hope they're better than Seabiscuit!). I just came across a blog entry on the web about a movie set in Saratoga - the entry said the movie, from 1938, was still funny 60 years later. Some of you may be familiar with "A Slight Case of Murder", but many no doubt are not, so I am posting info here. The blogger also said it was available via Netflix. Well if someone watches it before me (remember, it may take me a while) please post a comment on here.
Fun movie....Skidmore did the play a few years ago. Runyon is quoted as saying that he was a little afraid about writing this movie --it was closer to some events that may have happened in Saratoga. Anyone mention the bootlegging and placing dead bodies on three select Saratoga Springs front lawns....then trying to retrieve them. Bootlegging was done for here - but the "illegal" local casinos were still going strong. Happy viewing !!

Oh hey thanks for that insightful post - I didn't know anything about that movie. Any other movies with Saratoga connections?
