I have been getting a lot of Google hits on here lately from people searching "Saratoga Race Course Reserve Seating 2009" and the like. I presume these people sent money in for reserved seats and are trying to find out when they will receive them - not an unjustified thought considering their money had to be mailed in by January. I also sent a check in for seats, so based on personal considerations and the many Google hits I received I called NYRA at least 3 times in the past few weeks to find out when we will receive our seats and here is the answer: They have no idea.
The first time I called NYRA the person said they were tied up with the Belmont Stakes applications so they would get to Saratoga seats after that, then I called a few weeks later and the guy obviously didn't have any idea, but he guessed "2-3 weeks". I called a few days ago and the woman on the phone guessed "sometime in June". Last year I got my tickets in June but didn't get the refund (from the seats they didn't have and therefore couldn't sell me) until August. I wrote about that here.
Well if I receive more solid information on this I will post it here. It would be much simpler for those involved if NYRA would be a little more proactive with their customer relations and not hang onto our money for so long (I imagine they like earning the interest) or at least post on their site how far away they are from fulfilling requests.
