It says here that Peter and Leslie DiCarlo, and all of their staff, know what they're doing. That was the conclusion I quickly made Saturday night as six of us sat down to dinner at The Springwater Inn inside a very comfortable and nicely decorated dining room and were treated to an excellent dinner at extremely reasonable prices. My guests were thrilled with the place and everyone really enjoyed their experience.
I had the Copper River Salmon, which I really savored especially since as I just wrote on this blog recently it is hard to order wild salmon at most restaurants on the East Coast. Copper River Salmon not only indicated wild salmon, but prized wild salmon. Good for them first of all for not serving the second-rate farm raised stuff but also for obtaining top quality fish. What amazed me as much as the food's quality was the aforementioned reasonable prices. All entrees on the menu, whether it's a pasta dish or a steak, are $19.00. All small plates are $8.00, medium plates are $10.00, and pizzas are also $10.00. Simplicity is appreciated. The menu is supplemented each night with one or two appetizer and entree specials. The wine list is not extensive (yet?), but they had nice choices and the prices were just as reasonable as the food.
The Springwater Inn offers dining on their patio (facing Nelson Avenue) or in their spacious dining rooms. Sometimes I want to dine in downtown Saratoga Springs, and sometimes I don't. I like the neighborhood restaurants and Springwater Inn is a an excellent one. My girlfriend Margarita and I will be back soon and often.

Yea Matt - and although I really love the track I'm getting really annoyed with the deluge of track people in town. I guess that make me even closer to a native Saratogian right? LOL.
