I question Mr. Hayward's comment on the 2009 attendance and handle predictions, "We greatly exceeded those expectations," said Charlie Hayward, the track's president."
I think that both predications were a point or two higher that what Mr. Hayward predicted---not .."greatly exceeded..." as he claims.

Yes the whole "we did great because we didn't do as bad as we predicted" thing seemed more like slick PR than the truth. At the same time it is good to see NYRA having proficiency at something involving marketing - even if it involves a little bit of bending the truth. Too often they simply look pathetic and appear to know nothing about business, but their spin at least shows me they know something about PR.
