Holy cow, this one threw me for a loop. I just noticed that what is probably my favorite Saratoga building is for sale - The Batcheller Mansion.
It is such a historical and beautiful building, both inside and out, that I hate to see it on the market. Merlin Development principal owner Bruce Levinsky purchased the building (which was in disrepair at the time) in 1986. I don't know why he is selling, but I think that his company does such a great job runnng the place and caring for it that I hate to take a chance with someone else. You can view the listing here. I mentioned recently that Margarita and I had our wedding rehearsal dinner there, and that we rented the entire place not just for the party, but also so that we (and our families) could stay in the majestic building's nine guest rooms the night before the wedding. If you've never been inside, I urge you to stop in and take a look - it is simply magnificent! I previously wrote that the movie "The Skeptic" was partially filmed at the Batcheller Mansion. Despite the fact the movie was not that great and shows the mansion at its spookiest (is that a word?), I still think it's pretty cool that it was filmed there. I'll post the movie's preview trailer below:
I've been the unofficial Bed and Breakfast reporter here in Saratoga Springs, reporting how many of them have been listed for sale. Therefore, if you don't have the $5.5 million to purchase the Batcheller Mansion, perhaps you can buy one of the other lesser-priced ones I will list below, along with a link to my original entry reporting on the sale of it.

If one of you loyal and wonderful readers do buy the Batcheller Mansion, can you please hire me to run the place?
