My wife and I went to Plum Dandy Yogurt the other night. I've said it before and so have a few commenters, that place is just great- so fun! Their teas are excellent and very different - and their cold bubbly teas are really sweet treats that are unlike anything else offered in town. The picture below is one I got off of Wikipedia - what look like blueberries on the bottom are actually tapioca you can get in the tea. I guess what Plum Dandy simply calls tapioca is actually a product called tapioca pearls. I never really knew what tapioca was other than a flavor of pudding - but it's actually a starch extracted from a South American root plant.
The teas alone are a very different and enjoyable drink, but the tapioca pearls, which fit through the oversize straws that come with the teas, really give it a fun twist. Margarita and I were smiling during our whole visit to Plum Dandy and even the walk home as we drank our tea with the tapioca pearls.

There was a Mom with a 10 year old girl who walked into the place when we were there. the Mom explained to her how you pour your own yogurt and then choose the toppings. The girl had one word for it all as she exclaimed "awesome!" I really have to hand it to the onwer of Plum Dandy for having such a great place. I think Saratoga Springs' most fun evening meals will involve dinner at PJ's Barbecue and dessert at Plum Dandy's. See you at both great places!
I still don't understand the sushi aspect of the business. How are prices?

Hey Rob, I wrote back in November when Plum Dandy first started selling sushi "Holy diversification Batman! Plum Dandy will soon be serving sushi!". The key word of course being diversification. Maybe with the winter months approaching and people not exactly in the mood for frozen yogurt when it's minus two outside, Plum Dandy simply wanted another reason to get people through the door and build clientele. The teas were probably another facet of that smart plan. Just my thoughts.

Best news of the week: Cake batter frozen yogurt just took up permanent residence in one of Plum Dandy's machines. Talk about awesome!

I loooove bubble tea! I'm so excited there's a place in Saratoga to get some.
